Welcome to a typical day of a Koala preschool’s student. While no one day will ever be the same, there are common practices and routines undertaken each day. These practices form the backbone of our program, ensuring high quality early learning that supports your child’s learning and development and school readiness. Here is a guide as to what your child can expect each day in the Preschool room…
The day begins on a loving note as the children exit their cars and are cheerfully greeted by the school's Director. Upon entering the classroom, your child is again warmly greeted by his or her teacher and friends.
The children can choose from one of the 3 logical multiple intelligence centres where they are encouraged to explore their natural curiosity. One such MI centre is the Naturalistic intelligence centre where different types of leaves, flowers, twigs etc. are laid-out for the kid to engage with.
Weather permitting; the children play outdoors for 10-20 minutes each day on the playground. If the children stay in due to weather, they enjoy our colourful indoor gym instead.
The communications between the children and teachers during Circle Time are invaluable for providing interactions which help your child develop an understanding of the world around them.
This period is especially dedicated to foster the musical intelligence and linguistic intelligence. Kids are introduced to interactive rhymes and songs which helps in building their listening skills and vocabulary.
Conversations among the children and with adults happens during this hour of the day, to enrich the kid’s vocabulary.
Conceptual Learning Blocks, tiles, peg-boards, colour cube, Legos and more provide opportunities to learn different concepts such as sorting, matching, weighing, categorizing, counting, and measuring.
Snack is served each day. Snack Time provides an opportunity for each child to develop their conversation skills and table manners.
During jumping jack time, the children explore the school environment by independently choosing and actively participating in many different activities
Yoga and meditation is a daily fare at Koala preschools. Children are taught basic yoga poses and mindfulness techniques like belly breathing exercise calm their young minds and help them focus.
This hour is a staple in Koala’s schedule. A special focus on the use of Hindi is encouraged. Basic and short words are introduced to the kids through stories, rhymes and songs.
After jumping jack time, the children gather together on the rug to enjoy a good story. Teachers sit a the children during Story Time narrating stories with good morals and facilitate positive conversations.
The time passes much too quickly for both the children and the teachers! The children gather together and receive a warm good-bye at the end of each day.
